Christian (45) holds a post-graduate master degree: Master of Corporate Communication (MCC) from the Erasmus University Rotterdam and a second post-graduate master degree; Master Management Consultant (MMC) from the Free University Amsterdam. In 2007; Christian participated in the non-executive board members programme (Nyenrode Commissarissencyclus) at Nyenrode Business University. He is a qualified non-executive board member and provides corporate governance services.
In the fall of 2008, he commenced  with the executive Master of Business Valuation programme at TiasNimbas Business School, the business school of Tilburg University and Eindhoven University of Technology.
Christian has worked in various European countries and has North American experience as well and has worked with different cultures. Developing and managing six European offices at Showcase Placements Inc. and developing client relationships in several European countries at Cirque du Soleil  has contributed to this fact. Due to travelling & networking, he became a linguist, speaking currently four languages fluent: English, Dutch, French, German and basic Spanish.
In his career, Christian has had the opportunity to participate as speaker at conferences and at guest lectures and also published  articles in magazines and on blogs ( e.g. Reply to All - innovation in communication, Gek op Klanten - into customers & Eventbuzz - about management events) Ter Maat worked at the several leading companies & brands; e.g.  Maison van den Boer, Showcase Placements/WPP & Cirque du Soleil as well as management consultant for a variety of international companies.

He was able with his teams, to achieve major business improvements and results. He has worked for start-ups as well as medium seized companies (up to 500 employees). Its clients and business partners were multinationals, of which Ford Motor Company with nearly 350.000 employees globally was the largest. He has had experience of working on the agency side as well as the client side.
His skills range from management consultancy to communication/marketing to business development and strategy. His personal interests focus on aligning the most appropriate strategy, innovation, marketing & communication approaches in order to achieve the objectives, while creating a true consumer/client experience and profound reputation. His career has been based on developing knowledge of marketing, communication, business development, management consultancy, strategy and consumer/client relationships.
